Bisque Googly Eye Doll

Description

This collectible doll features a bisque socket head with prominent 'googly' eyes. The eyes are blue glass, set in a side-glancing position, which is a hallmark of early 20th-century character dolls. The face is finely decorated with hand-painted details, including thin, arched eyebrows, delicate eyelashes, a small nose, and a closed, smiling mouth with red-toned lips. The complexion is a matte bisque with soft pink blushing on the cheeks. The doll is dressed in a period-style outfit consisting of a white dress with blue polka dots, a dark blue bodice, and intricate white lace trim adorned with blue beads. A matching cream-colored ruffled bonnet with a blue ribbon tie sits atop a light brown wig. The hands are visible and appear to be made of a composition material or painted wood, typical of the era's jointed doll bodies. The overall presentation is consistent with German or French character dolls from the 1910-1920 period.
