Which catalogues can I use?
The template is open to all major catalogue systems — Scott, Michel, Stanley Gibbons, Yvert & Tellier, and more. The "catalogue number" field is free text, so you can note references from multiple catalogue systems side by side if you like.
Can I catalogue souvenir sheets, blocks, and postal stationery?
Yes. The "issue type" field covers definitives, commemoratives, souvenir sheets, blocks, airmail and postage due stamps, as well as postal stationery — so your collection stays cleanly structured even with mixed holdings.
How do I document provenance correctly?
collectors.place offers five dedicated fields for this: date of acquisition, type of acquisition, previous owners, price paid, and a detailed free-text field for the full ownership history. For stamps with complex provenance, we recommend making full use of the free-text field and linking any supporting source documents.
Is collectors.place suitable for mixed collections?

How secure is my data?

What's the difference between mint never hinged and unused?
"Mint never hinged" (MNH) means a stamp has its full, undisturbed original gum with no hinge marks. "Unused" means the stamp has no postal cancellation but the gum may show signs of a previous hinge or mount. Both states are recorded separately in the "condition" field.
