Vintage Günthermann Tin Litho Wind-up Rollover Airplane

Description

This vintage tinplate toy airplane features a clockwork wind-up mechanism designed for a 'rollover' or stunt action, facilitated by a prominent metal lever on the underside. The fuselage is decorated with detailed green and yellow lithography, including window markings and a large letter 'A' on the side. The nose of the aircraft displays the 'SG' logo within a circle, accompanied by the text 'MADE IN GERMANY' and a lithographed representation of a propeller and radiator. The wings and tail surfaces are painted blue on the underside. A small pilot figure is visible within the open cockpit. A distinguishing feature is the set of large, white lithographed wheels with black treads, bearing the inscriptions 'G. CORD' and 'A-12-120 BALLON'. The internal clockwork mechanism, including a large mainspring and brass gears, is exposed on the bottom of the fuselage, along with a fixed winding key. The toy shows minor signs of age-related wear, including small scratches and paint chips, but the lithography remains largely intact and vibrant.
