Calcite
This mineral specimen features a cluster of large, well-developed calcite crystals on a dark, crystalline matrix. The primary crystals exhibit a sharp scalenohedral habit, commonly known as 'dogtooth spar.' They are translucent with a distinct pale yellow to greenish-yellow hue and a vitreous luster. The surfaces of the crystals show some fine growth striations. The matrix is composed of a darker, more compact crystalline material, possibly a different generation of calcite or limestone, with smaller white crystalline aggregates and minor reddish-brown iron oxide staining visible in the crevices. The specimen is roughly pyramidal in shape, with two prominent crystals forming a peak at the top.
